Frigidaire FFFR560
This refrigerator looks like a high-end appliance however, it's not as much. The counter-depth of this fridge allows you to get the look of a built-in refrigerator for less than a custom fridge. It also does an excellent job of hiding the ice maker and water dispenser behind a false panel, which makes it appear more streamlined than models that display the appliances themselves. It does have a few minor flaws in the design that keep it from looking as good.
The biggest problem with this Frigidaire is the fact that it's counter-depth. That means it is unable to use about 7 cubic feet of usable space when compared to a Gallery refrigerator in standard depth measurements. retro style fridge freezer is a significant loss particularly when you consider that the appliance is priced at around $3,500.
The fridge is still capable of maintaining a constant temperature in its cooling and freezer compartments. It also performed well in our spill test by keeping fluids like water and other contained even at the top of the shelf.
The Frigidaire is an excellent choice if you want a French-door fridge with a large, customizable drawer that flexes. It has a smudge proof stainless steel finish and its left door opens smaller than the right which makes it easier to access the controls. The flex drawer can be set to various temperature settings, which means it can be used as a cooler, freezer or to chill drinks or wine.
The fridge is simple to use, but it's not as intuitive as some of the other refrigerators we tested. It has a digital control panel with a simple layout, and offers several useful features, like the ability to move the door bins from left to right, and a button that lets you power up the freezer in turbo mode for short bursts of coldness. It's also Energy STAR certified, which means you can save money on your utility bill with this refrigerator. However, it lacks some convenience features, such as a temperature-controlled meat/deli bin and a light in the freezer. Its storage performance is also only average.
